The stories of Arthur are the acts of Albion, applied to a Prince of the fifth century. A major reason for his recurrent spell, in a variety of guises, has been his golden-age aura; that of Camelot. Other legends express the same dream, but the Arthurian golden age has an extra dimension. The King is gone... but he is not gone forever. He is asleep in a cave, or immortal in his magical island; he will return, and presumably bring the golden age back.
